Association of Military Surgeons of the United States Biographical Sketch Collection
Contains personal biographical forms of Association members, created c.1901-c.1909, often with an accompanying personal photograph; also some administrative correspondence, membership lists and a history of the Association.
Curtis P. Artz Papers
Artz was Director of a U. S. Army Surgical Team in Korea in 1953, and became a founding member and first president of the American Burn Association. He later became Professor of Surgery and Chairman of the Department at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Emile Holman Papers
Dr. Emile Holman was professor of surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine, 1926-1955. In his later years Holman became actively involved in political and social issues, particularly the anti-war movement. Dr. Holman was interested in the history of surgery and included in the collection is material on William S. Halsted. The collection contains correspondence, diaries, reprints, printed matter, diplomas and certificates.
Halsted Society Archives
The society's purpose is to perpetuate Dr. Halsted's memory, to further the doctor's scientific ideals and principles, and encourage a free and informal exchange of ideas on various aspects of surgery.

Dr. Henry Harkins was with the Department of Surgery, School of Medicine, University of Washington from 1947. The collection contains correspondence, biographical data, research studies, typescripts of talks and lectures, operative records and case reports, memoranda, diaries, reprints and printed matter, certificates and diplomas, and photographs.
John H. Gibbon Papers
Dr. John H. Gibbon invented the first artificial heart-lung machine and performed the first human open heart operation. The collection includes material on this subject as well as some biographical and genealogical data.
